Clinic Services

Clinic Services are provided on a sliding fee scale basis, and immunizations/vaccines are FREE through age 18. After age 18, vaccines for adults are based on the vaccines's cost. Clinic fees are based on income and family size at the initial visit and annually updated.  We accept Medicaid, and for those who are uninsured or prefer to pay out-of-pocket, we accept cash, check, Visa and Mastercard.  Find a clinic location near you.

Primary Care

The primary care program provides coordinated, comprehensive, health care for acute and chronic diseases. Included are diagnosis, treatment, patient education regarding specific illnesses and their prevention, as well as good health maintenance practices. Examples of these services include: Physical examinations, medical management of hypertension, diabetes, heart and lung ailments, infectious diseases and other health problems not requiring a specialist or hospitalization. Primary care services are available by appointment.

Immunizations / Vaccines

All CDC recommended childhood vaccines are offered without charge to any school age child (through age 18). Charlotte County exceeds the state average in childhood immunizations.

Adult immunizations include: influenza (flu), Vzv (chickenpox) , pneumonia, diptheria, tetanus, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR). Fees are based on the cost of the vaccine and administration.

Women's Health provides family planning, cancer and sexually transmitted disease screenings, as well as treatment for uncomplicated gynecologic problems through our Primary Care clinic at all three clinic locations. Gynecologists are available for further diagnostic testing in the event of any abnormal pap smear.
 

Family Planning Family Planning

Family planning clinic provides testing, counseling and family planning support.  We offer a variety of current methods of birth control. There is no charge for the chosen method of birth control, only the office visit. Birth control methods include natural family planning, male and female condoms, diaphragm, vaginal rings and film, birth control pills, intra-uterine devices (IUD) and Depo Provera injection. Emergency contraception is also available. We participate in the Title X program for female and male sterilization. This is an income-based, federally-funded program.  Confidential pregnancy testing is available at all clinic locations.

Pediatric Primary Care Clinic promotes healthy behaviors, protects health and assures access to quality health care. Clinical services will include well-child examinations, school physicals, sports physicals and treatment of illnesses. Our team of board-certified practitioners is trained to educate, diagnose, and treat common childhood illnesses.

The Pediatric Dental Clinic is open to children under 18 years old. We are only accepting patients with Medicaid at this time. We cannot see adult patients at the Dental Clinic at this time. See Project Dentist Care (below) for adult dental services.

STD/HIV - Red Ribbon Infectious Disease Ryan White (HIV) Clinic

The Charlotte County Health Department is committed to providing quality HIV/AIDS services to the community. We offer testing, treatment services, and obtain medical and social services for people living with HIV/AIDS. The Charlotte County Health Department offers HIV/AIDS treatment for eligible patients.  Services include medical visits, clinical counseling, lab work, and certain pharmaceuticals. Case management is also available.

The HOPE Clinic is a treatment program for individuals infected with chronic Hepatitis C. There are several types of hepatitis. This clinic provides treatment for Hepatitis C only. For additional information please contact the Contact Us tab above, or call (941)639-1181 Ext 2255.

Project: Dentist Care (PDC) is a state-wide dental access-to-care network overseen and supported by the Florida Dental Health Foundation, Inc. Under the PDC banner, clinics and referral programs are organized by local dentists who volunteer their time and services to offer preventive and restorative dental care to Floridians in greatest need. The goal of the program is to provide oral health services to the underserved population in Charlotte County. To qualify to Project: Dentist Care, residents must be a Charlotte County resident age 18 or over, have completed a financial screening, and be a patient of the Charlotte County Health Department. Clients must be equal to or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level, and can not have Medicaid or dental insurance. Contact your local clinic to see if you qualify and if there is space available. Appointments are very limited and the program is not available year-round.
